Once John and I checked out of the hotel we had some time to spare before we headed to his birthday surprise. We decided to return to our favorite pizza place in Buckhead for some Chicago style Pizza. It hit the spot!
We also scrolled through some dream homes on the iPad while we were waiting.
After lunch, I gave John the address to our destination. As we passed through different parts of the city John’s curiosity set in and he began asking me where we were headed. When we finally arrived to our destination I shouted…”We are going to shoot guns!”
Neither one of us didn’t have much experience with guns, so once we got there we watched a short video on gun safety and then one of the employees taught us the basics on how to load the gun and aim at your target.
They provided us with ear and eye protection and off we went into the shooting range to fire away!
At first I was a little intimidated because of the kickback but it wasn’t too bad and John and I did pretty well for our first time shooting!
I honestly had way more fun than I expected and I would love to go back again!
Once we arrived back to John’s parent’s house we continued the birthday celebration with a delicious home cooked meal that John’s mom prepared followed by a yummy cookies and cream ice cream cake!
The funny thing about the ice cream cake was John’s parents put the cake in their deep freezer and when we went to cut the cake it was so frozen that they could hardly cut it with a butcher knife!
After several attempts and giggles they got it sliced and we decided that it might be easier to eat it with a fork
After the celebration John’s parents and I decided to catch up on the Bachelorette and predict who we think will win this season. We are part team Chris and part team Drew
We had a great time in Georgia and can’t wait to go back for another visit!
How is your summer going so far? What’s your favorite kind of birthday treat?
